Einer der besten Videoencoder, encodiert nach MPEG2 (SVCD, DVD) und MPEG1(VCD/XVCD) mit verschiedenen Einstellungen und Filter. Er beinhalktet auch einfache Features wir Schneiden und Zusammenfügen von MPG-Dateien. Die Plusversion enthält einen unlimitierten (verbesserten) MPEG2-Codec. Der kostenlose japanische Encoder TMPGEnc überrascht vor allem durch seine Funktionsvielfalt und seine Leistungsfähigkeit. Sowohl MPEG1- als auch MPEG2-Dateien (diese allerdings nur einen Monat lang in der Freeversion), lassen sich aus AVI-Dateien erstellen. Vorlagen für DVD und (S)-Video-CDs liegen dem Paket bei. Darüber hinaus leistet TMPGEnc das Multiplexing und Demultiplexing von Audio- und Video-Streams. Auch variable Bitraten sind möglich. WAV-Dateien, die größer als 2 GByte sind, werden unterstützt. Dank eines Project Wizards ist es ein Leichtes, die richtigen Einstellungen auszuwählen.

Update 2.524.63.181 (Download Freeversion) Changelog translated from japanese: * The format of the project file and the template file was modified. Because of that, the project which was drawn up with new version becomes not be able to use with old version. * With the bit rate calculation tub of project wizard, it tried to be able to appoint DVD-DoúbleLayer to type of media. * With the MPEG system multiplexer, mux_rate (multiplexing rate) was not average bit rate and it tried to record maximum bit rate. Time to completion of output is shortened because of this.

Die Seriennummer von bestehender Installation (Plusversion) wird automatisch übernommen! Falls die Vorgängerversion weiter genutzt werden soll, empfiehlt es sich das Install.verzeichnis zu sichern und die neue Installation in einem anderenVerzeichnis vorzunehmen (Programmdateien bzw. Standard-Templates etc. werden überschrieben bzw. gelöscht!).

Project wizard (Step 4/5): Neues Zielformat DVD 8.5 GB (Double Layer) für den Bitraterechner wird unterstützt.

Geändert:

Format der Projekt- und Templatedatei wurde geändert! Ältere Dateien sind weiterhin nutzbar - neuere können aber nicht von älteren Versionen genutzt werden!

MPEG system multiplexer: die max. bitrate wird jetzt hier angezeigt und übernommen, statt der durchschn.Bitrate. Dies verkürzt das erneute speichern.

MPEG Setting - GOP structure: Sogar wenn "Closed GOP" nicht ausgewählt wurde, ist die GOP-Struktur jetzt kompatibel mit dem MPEG-Standard.

[Output to file - AVI file / WAVE file]: when clicking the Cancel button in the [Sound Selection] dialog, the dialog was shown again.

[MPEG Setting - Quantize matrix]: if saving an existing template under a new name, it could not be deleted.

[MPEG Setting - Quantize matrix]: if saving a template under no name, memory access violations occurred.

When reading empty files (zero data), it could take a very long time to show the error message.

AVI files created with TMPGEnc, when played with Windows Media Player could stop in the middle, with the message "Invalid file".

1. Project Wizard

Although MPEG encoding used to be for specialists only, everybody can now create MPEG-1/2 files easily using the project wizard. And because of the automatic bitrate adjustment function the size of the output file can easily be managed so that the file fits the target media.

2. New 2passVBR encoding engine

TMPGEnc Plus uses a new and improved 2passVBR encoding algorithm. This new 2passVBR analyzes the video during the first pass and does the actual encoding during the second pass. Using this method ensures high quality even when using a low bitrate. Furthermore, it is possible to specify the output file size and the bitrate will be adjusted automatically.

3. Create MPEG for DVD-Video, SVCD, or VCD easily

The project wizard makes it easy to create MPEG files corresponding to DVD-Video, SVCD, and VCD standard.

4. Useful MPEG editing tools:
